In conclusion, I believe that the link between death and faith is extremely visible in country music. This link is important because where this style of music is seen upholding the religious roots of the Southern United States, it is not only a description of the culture of the South, but also a way of people connecting to the rural past in an urban present. This music allows people to remember what things used to be like, and take some of those early roots beliefs for themselves. It also encourages people to have faith in things such as eternal life, so that they can deal with death more comfortably, in a way that allows them to gain some sort of comfort in knowing that the person that they have lost is just waiting for them "on the other side" and that they will all be reunited when they themselves pass on. All in all, country music has clearly been, since the beginning, a way for people to connect with God and have a musical way to enjoy their faith.
